Summary of Position

- Implement, supervise and monitor WASH programs during entire project management cycle ensuring compliance of project policies and procedures within the specified time and budget. 
- Assist in staff capacity building of to develop future WASH programs and internal coordination to strengthen WaterAid Nepal’s integrated approach.
- Initiate network with other similar organizations to influence and advocate on WASH issues.

Description

Support in facilitation of quality WASH program implementation
- Assist as a focal person for the effective organization, supervision, monitoring and implementation of WASH activities/ programmes in the target areas
- Develop appropriate targeting criteria and mechanisms to ensure the needs of identified vulnerable groups are met.
- Facilitate fund disbursement process to the partner organizations with support of Finance and administrative team
- Closely collaborate with the primary target group, local authorities, district authorities and other stakeholders in activities of implementation of WASH activities to ensure achievement of programme objectives and outputs.
- Ensure hygiene promotion activities are in close integration with other project activities and maintain all the records of hygiene promotion activities;
- Ensure gender, protection, local culture and other important cross-cutting concerns are taken into account in program implementation and reporting

Support in development and review of program plans & proposals, feasibility study and survey
- Participate in development of new proposals and the action against country strategy
- Support technical staffs of partners to design and conduct systematic surveys
- Support to collect water samples to conduct water quality analysis
- Collect and analyze relevant water, hygiene, and sanitation information among the primary target groups, government institutions and other stakeholders operating in the target areas

Ensure effective monitoring, accountability and knowledge sharing
- Monitor quality of water regularly in all rehabilitated/maintained or newly constructed water supply schemes or water points;
- Regularly visit new program/ project site to supervise and monitor ongoing construction and  rehabilitation activities
- Ensure  WASH related activities are executed as per design, specifications and work schedule
- Provide knowledge about DRR and Climate Change adaptation  to partners and WASH stakeholders 
- Review and analyze documents and progress reports from partners to ensure timely implementation of WASH related activities and make recommendations accordingly
- Support partners in community capacity building on WASH topics, as well as WASH hardware components according to programme description, quarterly and annual activity plan and budget, and national standards.

Support in capacity building and strengthening relation with stakeholders
- Capacity building of partners and other WASH stakeholders related to WASH issues
- Working in harmony with all other project staff and field team for the effective and efficient day-to-day management of the WASH activities.

Effectively undertake corporate responsibility
- Take active measures to address equality issues, particularly relating to gender inequality and caste discrimination, in programme planning and activities;
- Ensure the highest standards of accountability ensuring good communication and information sharing within and outside the organisation;
- Be accountable to all organizational policies of WaterAid Nepal and global
- Actively participate in any emergency response if necessary;
- Maintain confidentiality of all critical and sensitive information related to the organisation.

Additional Information

- Bachelor of civil Engineering and MSC/ME in Water and Sanitation Sector or related field. - Minimum 5 years’ relevant work experience in with good understanding and experience in implementing and monitoring WASH programmes and projects at different levels - Proven experience to design water supply and sanitation along with cost estimation.
